How to get featured on Notion Marketplaces

In the last issue (which you can find by clicking here) I shared with you how to get more reach to your Notion templates. Now we have to talk about how to actually get featured on the Notion template gallery and other marketplaces.

I’ve had some of my templates rejected and if you submitted yours, you probably had the same experience.

So what should you do to get your templates featured on the Notion template gallery?

Pick a problem for an audience and solve it

This is the first and the most important step. Remember, your Notion template is a tool that will be used by someone to solve a problem.

So make sure to start with the problem and the audience.

For example, the last template I made, The SoloGrowth Dashboard, was made specifically for freelancers and solopreneurs, people who work alone, who have trouble prioritising their tasks, and who need a way to determine what should be delegated and what should be done immediately.

Problem: Prioritisation, Task management

Audience: Freelancers and solopreneurs

And now you’re probably wondering:

How do I find the problem and the audience

You have to do your research, I mentioned this in my previous newsletter, so here are some ideas:

Facebook groups

  1. Notionway

  2. Notion for business

  3. Notion template collection

  4. All things Notion

Subreddits

  1. Notion

  2. Notion business

  3. Free Notion templates

  4. Notion Creators

  5. NotionForBusiness

Don’t follow the crowd

If your template is the same as everyone else’s, it’s not going to be published.

You have to add your personal touch, whether it’s a cool new feature, some vibrant colours, a different process of doing things, anything that could be different or that people aren’t doing.

For example, in The SoloGrowth Dashboard, I added auto-suggestions. It’s basically a formula that’s going to suggest the next step, so you don’t have to think about it. As you can see below, if a task it important and not urgent, there should be a deadline. If there’s no importance and urgency levels, they should be added.

Last bits and pieces

  1. Have mock data so people can easily see how it works

  2. Make sure spelling is correct and that it’s not offensive in any way

  3. Think about the structure, the way you arrange blocks and create a flow based on your process

Don’t forget, I’m here for you!

Reply to this email and let me know what you need from me to improve your business. I want to keep these emails short and to the point, so you can get the value from every single one of them.

If you got any value from this, make sure to share it with your friends. It means a lot to me.

Until then,

Alex

P.S. Whenever you're ready, there are 3 ways I can help you:

#1 The Second Brain Notion Template: I know you are busy. Most entrepreneurs are and most spend their time working in their business, not on their business. This template will help you free up your time and do what needs to be done.

#2 The Sales CRM Notion Template: Sales is all about one single thing, follow-up. And you don't want to get into a negotiation for a big deal and forget something, or not follow up when you need to. Having everything in one place is crucial.
