Hey there!
Today I'm going to teach you how to create a Lead magnet.
A Lead magnet is a free piece of content or a free product that you give to your audience in exchange for their email.
By creating a Lead magnet, you increase your changes to reach the right people who are going to buy from you.
The problem is that most people focus on the sheer number of their email subscribers, not on the right people who need to be there.
Email list of 500 people can be more valuable than the one with 10,000 people
I'm telling you this because I was in the same situation.
I had 700+ email subscibers and didn't get a single sale from my email marketing.
That's why I deleted most of those subscribers and created a Lead maget in order to:
Target the right people in my network
Solve a problem for them
Create a relationship with them and provide value
Let's get right to the steps!
Step 1: The Problem You're Solving
Just like I mentioned above, all of us have to decide who's the person we're trying to help. And this is where we should be as specific as possible.
That way, we can figure out what problems that person has and how can our expertise help.
Once we figure out a problem, we're ready for the step 2.
Step 2: The Product
Lead magnets can be guides, e-books, Notion templates, courses, newsletters, checklists, etc.
It can be anything that's specifically meant to solve this one problem your audience has.
I decided to build a Notion template for task management, with some client and project management features.
The reason why I chose the task management template is because most Freelancers and Solopreneurs have a lot of tasks at hand, they want to organize them as easy as possible, so my template allows them just to set importance and urgency levels of a task and the rest is done for them.
They get suggestions about what they should do next based on the levels they set.
Step 3: Landing Page & Email Sequence
Okay, so you have the audience, the problem, and the products you're giving away.
Next up is the Landing page and the email sequence.
These are important because that's the way people are going to discover your Lead magnet.
On your Landing page, you can add:
The sign up form
The problem you're solving
The ways you're solving it through your product
The testimonials for social proof
And when you create your Landing page with the sign up form, it's time to create an email sequence to deliver your Lead magnet.
The email sequence I created contains these emails:
The Thank you email - introducing myself, thanking them for signing up, delivering the Lead magnet
The Get started email - email where I outlined 3 ways how they can use this product to solve their problem
The Story emial - where I told the story of how this product came to be
The Sales email - where I pitched them a premium Notion template
That's all for this week!
And, of course, if you have any feedback or suggestions please let me know, it means a lot. What do you want to read more or less of? Just reply to this email and I'll get on it!
Have a nice day! 👋
